The Tigers made their way to Machno at the weekend, and will have come away wondering how they didn`t get anything out of a very tough match. Despite numerous chances, balls cleared off the line, hitting the post and crossbar, and missing a bagfull of chances, the team ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 result. At times the team played some wonderful football, and were on top for the majority of the second half. Having come off at half time 1 goal down the Tigers responded almost immediately after the break drawing level with a goal from Marc Williams, his shot finding its way under the oppositng goalkeeper. Within 5 minutes of drawing level though, Machno again went ahead with a smart individual goal, with the winger dancing through the defence and slotting away neatly under our onrushing keeper. Despite Ogwen being on top for the following15 minutes, Machno, went further ahead when a long clearance beat the defence and the machno forward pounced, slotting away nicely. At 3 - 1 down the Tigers threw everything they had at Machno, who at this stage were being constantly pushed back and were under pressure. The pressure eventually told with around 20 minutes to go when Rhun Morris slotted away from a tight angle to make it 3 - 2. The pressure continued after the restart, and Tigers went close on a number of occassions, an Alex Griffiths rocket from 30 yards smashing against the post. Against the run of play, another long ball, caught the defence on the back foot, and the Machno forward crept in between the goalkeeper and centre backs to loop the ball in. 4-2. With only around 10 minutes to go, Tigers reverted to 3 at the back and pushed on, with attack after attack, and chance after chance going begging. They did eventually break through with another sharp finish from Rhun, but it turned out to be too little too late. Encouraging performance from a slightly weakened side who fought valiantly and played very well. Just "one of those games".
