The ground once hosted an FA Cup 1st Round tie
In November 1986, Ton Pentre played in the First Round proper of the FA Cup. The Bulldogs were drawn against Cardiff City and the south Wales derby brought the BBC and their famous commentator, Tony Gubba, to Ynys Park.
