On a cloudy afternoon at Greens Norton Road, Tows were put into bat by Wardington.

Rob Jones and James Kirk opened the innings and matched each others scoring to take the score to 126 before Kirk played around a straight ball and was bowled for 51. Ollie Drage came in at number three but sadly didn’t trouble the scorers on this occasion. David Roberts supported Jones who finally succumbed when on 75. Nick Hulatt was next man in and made a scratchy 12. Andy Roberts and Sam Kelly played some strokes and kept the scoreboard ticking but shot of the match was off the last ball of the innings when evergreen bowler Andy Cater lashed the ball back over the bowlers head for a six! Tows innings closed on 217 for 9.

Cater was soon back in action with the ball and took a wicket with his fourth ball helped by a smart slip catch. Kevin Hawkins bowled the second over, his first of the season and settled into a steady spell taking 3 for 9 off 7overs. Wardington batsmen continued to play shots but didn’t really get going. Kevin Jones decided to have some fun and a few lusty blows saw him amass 18runs before being caught in the deep by Andrew Roberts off Nick Hulatt. Adam Booth was also among the wickets and bagged 3 for 16 off 5 overs.

Tows won the match by 157runs and collected 20points.
