...more fun was to be had attempting to unsuccessfully dismantle scrum machines and an assortment of tractor tyres than dealing with rucks, mauls and offloads . When it came to the rugby, they started off slowly with a narrow 2-0 loss to Rosslyn Park. This was followed by wins against Grasshoppers and Teddington. Concentration was lost in the last league game against Ealing (the pitch was in very close proximity to those same tractor tyres) and the team suffered a 5-3 loss. Nevertheless, the team qualified for the Plate Semi-Finals where they had did to dig deep, fight back into contention and come back from being behind to despatch Barnes. In their last game, they had to do it all over again and in the closing minutes of the B Plate Final they scored a brace of tries to secure a marvellous 3-1 victory against Wasps. A fine team performance that everyone was immensely proud off.
