Weekend Round Up – 14 - 16 March:
Lets start with the seniors….
Senior Rugby:
1st XV:
The boys have had a rest week, with Weybridge Vandals the visitors on 22 March.
This has the potential to be a season defining game at the top of the table. Peter will be arranging a club lunch for those interested for what promises to be a great day down Parkfields.
Please let Peter know - pjgoff@hotmail.co.uk – so he can confirm numbers with the caterers.
Our guests of honour will be Jerold Gorleku and Henry Laidlow - both TRFC players who have been selected in the England 23 for Ireland v England U18’s next week in Cork. Go well lads – and go well T’s in what promises to be a huge game for the club.
2nd XV:
It was great to see the 2nd XV finally get out onto the park for ‘Friday night under the
Unfortunately, the lack of recent game time for the T’s told as Grasshoppers were very slick in the 1st half, and took at 0-38 lead into the break.
The 2nd half was a different affair however – Louis Haskell leading from the front – and some promising combinations starting to develop amongst the older and younger (good to see so many former Colts playing) players representing the T’s. It ended 14 – 45.
A big hand for Ollie Hampton btw – who’d never played rugby before this season. He started running around with the old boys touch on a Thursday evening, before graduating to senior training, and he made his senior debut on Friday. His mother (and son) will be immensely proud, as are we who’ve played on a Thursday social with him.
The 2nd XV are currently without a fixture this weekend – lets hope we get lucky on exchange!
Mini Rugby:
Rugby in the sun is so much better for the little ones – even if a little chilly as it proved on Sunday.
Having made space for the U11’s on the Junior pitch – it turns out they are away on Festival duties – as are the U7’s who seem to be the social butterflies of the Mini’s section.
Go well teams - and those training at Parkfields (in slightly bigger spaces!)

Girls U14’s Were training at Parkfields with their clusters.

Club Messages:
Tour shirts:
Unfortunately, the Mini’s won’t get on tour this season, but tour shirts for all age groups will be available for purchase. Please ‘size up’ at the TRFC shop (Anneke has the sizes for fitting purposes).
Prices are a very reasonable £29 for kids (including name & number on the back; £39 for adults). In my experience (I may just be losing my svelte shape!) you need to order a size or 2 larger in Akuma than with other brands.
Orders can also be made via Toby – tobykiddle78@gmail.com
The hope is that as many minis as possible will be wearing these tops at the Minis Festival on 27 April.
And remember Anneke has lots of other TRFC merchandise on offer to support tours and away trips….. I got my new Oddballs baseball cap to keep the Lisbon sun off my bald patch – but lost it so will be back for seconds this weekend…!
Take up the Whistle Course (At Twickenham RFC):

London Society is running Take up the Whistle at Parkfields on Monday 7th and 14th April from 19:00. You can register using the link above. Please pass around anyone in the age groups who might be interested…..
First Aid Course:
Message from Amelia –
We will be hosting face to face First aid training in the club house on Wednesday 16th April at 19:00, followed by some online modules.
As your aware, the RFU requires first aid cover for all Games AND training.
With this in mind, we aim at TRFC to have at least 3 first aiders per age group, to cover all aspects and to allow for people away on holiday, away venues etc….
Please can you all review your current first aiders, and confirm back to me names you would like to book for either a re-fresher or new? And who will be here next season!
If anyone would like to nominate themselves, please also let me know.
I will be at the ops table Sundays collating info, so please do come and chat to me if you have any queries.
Thank you for your anticipated support in keeping your children and families safe.
I’m away for the next 2 weekends, so if you’re interested in the First Aid course, please go and see Cath Smith ( safe guarding ) as she has all the details
Many Thanks
Amelia
Let me know if I.ve missed anything, or there are messages you want to get out ot the club.
Best Wishes
