Adam Richardson pulls together the bones out of a great U15's victory against Ampthill:
MATCH REPORT - A great come back in the second half saw TRFC beat Ampthill today in a friendly.
Not much of a match report today as I was coaching some of the other squad members who sat out this match. We seemed to get blown away in the first half conceding at least three tries.
However, the players seemed to find their feet better in the second half and we were able to claw ourselves back into the match as Ampthill faded. Several tries from Nathan earned him players man of the match and some great kicking and forward play from Dan saw him named Coaches’ MotM.
With the clock running down and the score 35 all, we managed to get a penalty straight under the posts and having successfully converted several kicks from near the touchline, it was a comparatively easy kick for Dan to make to put us ahead 38-35 right at the end (thank goodness someone on the pitch was keeping track of the score!). Incredible 2nd half off the tee for Dan landing 4 conversions and a penalty to seal the win.
Well done to several players making their debut today, including Charlie F and Will and also a huge thank you to the players who swapped shirts and did a shift on the Ampthill team so that that match could go ahead.
