MATCH REPORT - Away vs Barnes in the Quins Cup.

It was a cold and blustery morning playing near the banks of the river Thames, but we were too much for a Barnes B team that couldn’t cope with our pace and power.
After trading tries in the early stages, it looked like the tie was going to be a tight one.

However, Noah had other ideas and after scoring the first, adding a second and then running from his own half to score a third we were able to extend into a 19-5 lead.

Two more tries from Dan and Scott before half-time meant that we ended the half fully in control 29-10 up. The second half was harder work and Barnes managed to score three tries without reply to close the score up to 29-27.

The momentum turned back towards us with a kick and chase by Louis who was able to follow up his kick by tackling the Barnes full-back who spilt the ball to Ben, who was able to capitalise by running in for a try.

A couple more from Noah took his tally up to 5 tries, earned him Players MotM and made the final score Twickenham 48-34 Barnes. Great to get a win under our belt in the competition.

A few special mentions to Dan and Louis who both made 2 conversions each in tricky conditions. Lorcan was the coaches’ MotM for making a big impact in the second half with some tenacious tackling and strong running with the ball.

Javey made some great runs with the ball and Charlie was able to do the same coming on in the second half. In addition it was great to see Harley and Jerome who had come down to support the team.

The games keep coming thick and fast and we’ll be back to the Herts & Middlesex league next week with a home fixture against Ruislip. Well done everyone today ?
