Uddingston missed a golden opportunity to climb out the Div 2 tanks on Saturday when they lost out 17-12 to fellow strugglers Clydebank.
Despite making most of the running In the match, key mistakes at critical times were to prove the undoing for the Villagers.
An early try from Allan Paul, converted by Cammy Quinn saw the Villagers move into a 7 point lead after as many minutes.
Clydebank fought back and levelled the scoring on 16 minutes Before notching their second try of the afternoon on 25 minutes to move into a 12-7 lead, which they held until the break.
The second period started the same as the first, with the Villagers notching an early try courtesy of Blane Anderson, pulling the scores level once more. The advantage was short lived as Clydebank crossed for their 3rd try on the hour mark. The missed conversion giving them only a 5 point lead.
Despite throwing everything at the Bankies Uddingston were unable to get the all important score and the game came to end with the home side claiming the victory, 17-12.
The win sees Clydebank move 5 points clear of Uddingston, but with the Villagers having played 2 games less.
