The Villagers got their pre season fixtures underway on Saturday with an excellent home win against East coast rivals Lismore.
Determined to put their hard yards of pre-season into practice, the Villagers gave a strong display of opening running rugby, coming away with an emphatic 64-14 victory to kick start their campaign.
Leading 38-0 at the interval thanks to 6 tries and 4 conversions, the home side added a further 4 tries and 3 conversions in the second period.
Scoring credits went to B Anderson (3), R Anderson, C Quinn, R Mackie, W Irvine, G Alston, O Shanahan, and R McFadden. R Anderson was on target with the conversions.
