Despite getting off to a promising start, the Villagers found the going tough at Strathaven on Saturday, eventually going down 55-10 to their hosts.
Ross McKeown got Uddingston off to the perfect start with a try within the opening 5 minutes but Strathaven hit back with a quick fire treble to push themselves into a 17-5 lead after 25 minutes. The Villagers hit back on the half hour mark, Alan Paul crossing the whitewash, but this was to be the last time they would trouble the scoreboard. A further converted try a the stroke of half time brought up the bonus point for Strathaven and a 24-10 lead at the break.
The second half was pretty much one way traffic, as the hosts ran in a further 5 tries, 3 converted, to add 31 points to their first half total,
The result sees Strathaven leapfrog Oban Lorne to go top of the table, but having played 2 games more than Oban.
Next Saturday, 03/12, the Villagers are at home with Wigtownshire the visitors to Castle Policies. With only 6 points separating the sides in the league table the Villagers will be looking to close the gap and return to winning ways. Kick off at 2pm
