It was another 5 point haul on Saturday when the Villagers brought full points back from Fintry, defeating Strtahendrick 15-26.
With the frost having lifted sufficiently to allow the match to go ahead the Villagers didn't have it all their own way, finding themselves 2 tries behind within 30 minutes as their hosts controlled the key phases and took their chances. Missed conversions kept the score at 10-0 in favour of 'Endrick and it remained that way through to the break.
The second half saw Uddingston come to life and a 4 try scoring spree between the 50th and 70th minutes was enough to win the match and secure the 4 try bonus point.
Ross McFadden opened the scoring before Greg Alston made it 2 on 58 minutes. Direct from the restart Ru Anderson crossed for the 3rd before Liam Quinn made sure of the bonus point with try number 4. Anderson successfully slotted home the first 3 conversions to push Uddingston into a 26-10 lead with just less than 10 minutes remaining on the clock.
To their credit, Strathendrick never gave up, and claimed a consolation try deep into stoppage time. But by that stage it was too late to impact the result.
The win, coupled with other postponed fixtures, moves Uddingston to 4th overall in the West Division 2 table, but Wigtownshire are only 3 points behind and have played 2 games less.
No fixtures next Saturday due to the final weekend of the 6 Nations, but the Villagers will round off their league campaign for season 2022/23 on 25 March when they host Lanarkshire rivals Dalziel at Castle Policies. Kick off at 3pm with the 2nd XV scheduled to host Livingston 2nd XV at 1pm.
