The Villagers put their opening day defeat to the back of their minds on Saturday with an emphatic 83-17 away win at Clydebank.
The Villagers opened their account after 10 minutes with Watt scoring his first try of the afternoon with Anderson ably converting. The next 10 minutes saw Uddingston push ahead, with 3 further tries to secure the bonus point with only a quarter of the match played. Tries from McKeown (2), and Anderson, with 2 Anderson conversions brought the score line to 26-0.
The remainder of the first half was pretty much one way traffic and mirrored the previous 10 minutes with the Villagers notching up a further 3 tries and 2 conversions, the scoring honours once more going to McKeown (2) and Anderson. The home side did manage a well worked try just before the interval taking the half time score to 45-5 in favour of the Villagers.
Uddingston were quick out of their blocks in the second half with Black securing the opening try of the half after 43 minutes, before Anderson added his 3rd of the afternoon 3 minutes later. Anderson made sure of both conversions to extend the lead to 59-5.
Clydebank hit back with a converted try of their own on 48 minutes before a yellow card for a high tackle saw Uddingston reduced to 14 players. Clydebank took this advantage and slipped over for their 3rd try of the match.
With the numbers restored to 15 the Villagers set about finishing the match in style. The final 15 minutes saw 4 more tries from Watt and McKeown (3) with Anderson and Watson sharing a conversion apiece.
This was a dominant performance from the Villagers, and a 7 try display from man of the match McKeown, which moves them up into 4th in the table.
