Uddingston went down to local rivals Strathaven, 24-3, in their West Div 2 league encounter at Castle Policies.
With other results in the division also going to form there’s no change in the standings with Uddingston sitting in 8th position, equal on points with Dalziel and Helensburgh.
The first half was a tight affair, and the Villagers were holding title challenging Strathaven at 3-7 after half an hour of play, a Ruairidh Anderson penalty accounting for the home points. Unfortunately for Uddingston, it was the visitors who finished the opening period the stronger, with 2 tries providing Strathaven with a 3-17 advantage at the break.
If the first half was tight, the second was even closer. A converted try for Strathaven being the only score of the second period.
Despite the 3-24 defeat this was a much improved performance from the Villagers.
With the 2 week break for the Autumn Tests the next fixture is not until the 27th when Uddingston make the short trip into North Lanarkshire to face Waysiders Drumpellier, kick off 2pm.
