The Villagers missed the chance to get their league campaign off to a winning start on Friday night when they were defeated 14-36 by Strathaven under the Castle Policies floodlights.

Despite tries from Fox and M Watson, both converted by C Quinn, it was the visitors who ran in 5 tries, with 4 conversions and a penalty, to claim the bonus point win.

With the official debut of the new Tunnock's post protectors, and match ball sponsorship from Anthony Blake Financial Planning, it was still a successful evening for the Club.

Next Saturday, 10/09, the Villagers will be looking to bounce back but face the long journey south to face Wigtownshire. 3pm kick off in Stranraer
