Coronavirus (Covid-19) finally put the last nail in the coffin of club cricket this week as our governing body (EPCA) terminated the 2019/20 season with immediate effect. This after all professional cricket in the country was suspended for the next 60 days . This past week also saw all sports all over the country suspended or terminated with immediate effect.
It brings to a end a season plagued by stop start cricket fixtures the Prems side only managing 4 games before Christmas .The number of postponed games left Union needing to play 18 games after the Christmas break .
We hope this will not effect the 2020/21 season should we be able to play . The uncertainty of the future is a frightening thought.
Union cricket club would like to thank everyone who has contributed to a difficult season and we wish you and your families all the best for the upcoming months that will be tough on all of us and we hope to see you all fit and well in September .
