Saturday 12th September sees the visit of Laverstock & Ford, currently sitting 4th in the table, 2 places but only 1 point ahead of US Portsmouth.
Having played one more game in the league than US, it has been an up and down season so far for Laverstock. 2 good homes wins recently have been chalked off due to the fact that they are yet to win away from home having drawn at Andover New Street and lost at Amesbury Town.
This fixture last season saw a 1-0 win for Laverstock & Ford, the single goal coming from Robert Gallagher, who remains in their squad this time round and will remain a threat. Alongside him, they have had Archie Lovegrove and Adam Jones amongst the goals this season and will be ones to watch out for in this match.
US did however win the corresponding fixture in the early part of last season 4-3 at The Dell. Cal Coker scored in that fixture and having been on good form recently will look to add to his tally.
Going into the game, US will look to give Jimmy Cuthbert a first home start since joining from Fareham Town and bring a few players back who were not involved in the away with at Hythe & Dibden. With the Hampshire Senior Cup 2nd round in midweek, a win and good performance would be great to take into the match and keep the momentum going aiming for 4 wins on the bounce.
Kick off at the Victory Stadium is 3pm, admission prices are Adults £4, Conc. (12-16 & Over 60) £1 and Children under 12 free with a paying adult.
