Wessex League Division One action returns to the Victory Stadium as US take on unbeaten Amesbury Town.
Amesbury come into the match having drawn their first 2 but won their last 3 matches in the league, beating Christchurch, Laverstock & Ford and New Milton Town. There is no doubt that the visitors have been playing well and will look to continue this run of form.
Last season's match saw the visitors take the 3 points with a 3-2 win, however US can take positives from the 3-0 away win at the end of last season.
The 2 clubs ended the season very evenly matched, one place separating them in the league last term and that has continued this season as 2nd meet 4th today.
US will likely be without a couple of players that would usually be in the squad, but come into the match on the back of 2 wins in the last week including advancement in the Portsmouth Senior Cup. Cal Coker who scored 4 of the 9 goals scored in the last 2 games will look to carry on his good scoring form and help US keep the pressure on leaders Portland United. Portland host East Cowes Victoria and have a 5 point advantage over US at present having played a game more so it is important to get a good result today.
Likewise 3 points for the visitors would see them rise up the table depending on results elsewhere and could leapfrog US if things don't go to plan.
It is sure to be an eventful match and one that requires focus from the outset for both sides.
Kick off is at 3pm with usual admission charges in place including half price entry for Portsmouth and Havant and Waterlooville season ticket holders.
