Dear All ,
You will no doubt be aware of the FA statement yesterday in relation to the end of the grassroots football season. While we are disappointed that no further football will take place this season, we are thankful that we are now in a position of clarity. Our aim is to now concentrate on getting ourselves ready collectively for next season. We will be holding an online meeting for leagues on Tuesday evening to discuss the implications for the competitions you belong to.
This is a very difficult time for grassroots football and with this in mind, we are also keen to remind you that we are here to support clubs and leagues. The staff team are all available and working from home. While we may not have specific finances to give to clubs and leagues, we are interested in finding solutions to issues you may be facing in relation to retention of players and volunteers, logistics of starting the new season, affiliation etc. In order for us to do this, we need you to come back to us with any specific problems you can foresee for the beginning of the season. The team here can then work through the issues and where possible provide individual or collective solutions to problems.
We are also adding to our frequently asked questions on our website to ensure you have all of the latest information available to you. This is updated as and when more information becomes available and will be hosted on the home page of our website.
Finally, and most importantly, I do hope you and your families are fit and healthy and continue to support each other through a very difficult time. I have added the link for the NHS resources for any medical/general queries about the virus. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
I have seen some fantastic ideas on Twitter and facebook where you are continuing to engage with your players, parents and volunteers. Please continue to post these and we will promote and celebrate as many as possible to show what an amazing footballing community we have across our region.
Please continue to stay in touch.
