Charity Work

Here at UWLHC we make sure we do our bit for charity. Every year we try to raise as much money for a cause, voted for by our members.

We have a series of events each year, which as well as being incredible social occasions, raise lots of money for our chosen charities. These include our annual talent show with the men’s club at Christmas and a charity mixed hockey tournament in the summer term where we invite teams from across campus to compete for the cup. We also take part in the Stratford Half Marathon every April. Our highly anticipated 'Movember' event will be widely advertised to all clubs, specially designed T-shirts will be sold, and moustaches donned. We are also looking to incorporate a few smaller scale fundraising events such as cake sales, movie nights and potentially a hockey player slave auction!

We love to take part in other sporting charity events that happen across campus too. From tennis to netball and even rugby, we are always keen to enter a team, and show the rest of Warwick that we are not just victorious on the hockey pitch.

The CMD Warwick Dance for Sport Relief is a highlight in our charity calendar, with sports clubs showing off their best moves in order to win the prestigious title. After weeks of rehearsals, this year we came 2nd and we are determined that one year, we will beat the men’s club.

We are looking forward to choosing next year’s charity and trying to smash our previous fundraising totals.

If you would like to put forward a charity for next year, or for any questions regarding our charity work, please contact Carly Brown, our Charities Sec on C.Brown@warwick.ac.uk
