Uplands Rangers YFC was founded in 1984 by Eamon Landers, in the Springfield area of Chelmsford.
Many teams, from U9s to mens grew over the years, with Uplands Rangers becoming a well- known name in Youth football in the Chelmsford area. During the 1990s our teams won trophies at various age groups and confirmed themselves within the Community.
The late 90s brought varying levels of success, one notably being the early career of ex-Premiership star Greg Halford. In the following years the club had just two teams but both achieved promotion two years on the bounce with the younger side winning League and Cup doubles at U12 and U13 levels. Over the past 5 years the Club has grown significantly reaching 13 teams a couple of seasons ago. Last season our U13's won their Divison 2 Title and our U16 won their Knockout Cup.
We are proud to be the first youth football team in Chelmsford to introduce a player council where the views of players from all age groups are aired through their team representatives at regular meetings with coaches and our Club Development Officer.
On the pitch our PDP Programme (Player Development Pathway) continues to produce as we have seen another 3 players move on to play at a higher level bringing the total to 16 over the past 3 years who have progressed through this Programme. Our established link with Pro-Academy run by Mark Hunter, West Ham United Academy Coach continues to benefit all of our players especially our Little Rangers Development Squad who are now Coached by Pro-Academy on a weekly basis.
