TWO late tries by Wadebridge Camels gave them victory over St Austell in a very hard-fought Cornish derby in which the Saints ended with 14 men.
The visitors had lock Adam Kellow sent off in the 53rd minute for a high tackle, when they were trailing 10-7 at Molesworth Field.
Saints had their noses in front at 7-3 at the break after a converted try by centre Liam Freeman, following a 25th-minute penalty by Danny Thomas for Camels.
Wadebridge player-coach Mike Rawlings got his side off to a perfect start in the second half with a try after a 50-metre run, converted by Thomas, to make it 10-7.
Then came Kellow’s red card, but St Austell responded well, with Freeman penalties after 68 and 69 minutes putting them 13-10 in front.
But a late surge by Camels, which saw them score tries through lock Dickie Dawe and Matt Ballard, with the second converted by Thomas, sealed victory for the hosts.
