Wally started the game just like their last, with a goal within five minutes. A looped corner into the box from Ty Hamilton was headed home by Callum Young. The early goal did not stop Wallingford from creating chances as Kynan Isaac saw an effort cleared off the line followed by a furry of corners that the Rayners Lane keeper did well to keep out.
The rest of the second half saw few chances for either team but despite the early chances created by Wally they were just one goal in front heading into the break and still all to play for for a place in the play-off final.
Twenty minutes into the second half Wallingford scored again from a Ty Hamilton free kick, this time it was Lawrie Aitchinson who was able to tower above and increase the lead to two.
The chances kept coming for Wally who were playing good balls through the Rayners Lane defence and Ty Hamilton saw his one on one saved by the goalkeeper.
The visitors keeper pulled off another great save when he got across goal to save Ty Hamilton’s attempt. Rayners Lane saw more of the ball in the closing ten minutes, registering their first shot on target in the 88th minute. The match finished 2-0 to Wally a win which sees them progress into the final of the play-offs.
