On the 22nd of June 1941, Hitler launched Operation Barbarossa against Russia. This is the largest invasion and military operation in the history of warfare. Hitler stated that 'The world shall hold its breath'

The world will do the same at 14.30 on Saturday 27th April 2013.

Those that have been here since the dark February nights have waited for this moment. David Cook, a veteran of previous campaigns, is straining at the leash. Chris Prior, a thoughtful and somewhat unassuming man, has been putting in extra hours, just for this moment. A simple glance into the eyes of these men can tell you that they are ready.

We welcome back our Rugby Union brethren. Men who have enjoy successful campaigns on far flung fields whilst battling each other in the winter mud. Now they have done their duty for their respective clubs, they must unite, bond and get ready to go back ten metres.

We don't get paid for this. There are no open top bus parades, no busty glamour girls massaging our egos and no corporate sponsorship deals.

It begs the question; Why do we do it?
