Losing shape and focus see us losing the game

Really not sure how we managed to lose that game....well actually that's a lie, we lost our shape and focus (again), which meant we lost the game. Setting up with Joe Kent in goal, Sean Mortimer as a lone defender, Tate Foxhall and Freddie Hay playing left and right wingbacks, Omar Murad in the middle, with Tomas Beasley and Maldini Borzacco up front, we looked in complete control. The passing game had returned to the Panthers and we carved open Chertsey regularly, but spurned a number of chances. Kent was looking formidable in goal and was keeping Chertsey at bay. However, he was unfortunate when a very well taken goal saw him chipped to give Chertsey the lead. The Panthers didn't let their heads drop and were soon level after some good interplay between Murad and Hay which allowed Hay to put over a teasing cross which Borzacco stabbed home from close range. Unfortunately Mortimer suffered a knee injury that saw him miss the rest of the game and also required a trip to A&E after the game. Cody Ettienne replaced him and had a very good game in defense.

The second half started with Foxhall and Ettienne at the back, Murad in the middle, Beasley on the left and Guy Fraser-Brown (one of the goalkeepers) playing his first outfield game of the season on the right. Meaning that Hay had a chance up front. Hay took this chance almost immediately, latching on to a parried long range shot from Murad to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead. With 10 minutes to go Fraser-Brown took over from Kent in goal and Borzacco returned up front with Hay out wide. With us looking comfortable Foxhall played a ball back to where his normal defensive partner Mortimer would be, but unfortunately Ettienne was playing wider than Mortimer would and the Chertsey striker pounced on the mistake and blasted it past Guy to bring the game level. Shortly after the Panthers found themselves behind when an attack of their own was broken down by Chertsey and an excellent through ball saw Ettienne defending a 3 man breakaway and a thunderbolt of a shot flew past Guy to give Chertsey a 3-2 lead. Kent came on for Foxhall in an attempt to get an equaliser but it was all to late, and the Panthers suffered ANOTHER defeat in what has been a disappointing season.
