A very physical battle ends in stalemate

Following the injury to George last week, Panthers were due to line up with Tate in goal but in the warm up he pulled up with a back injury. Billy therefore moved between the sticks and Will moved back into defence

James had decided to leave Panthers in the week before this match.

Devon and Ryan H were back available, but Ethan was unavailable due to a knock picked up the day before, and therefore Panthers only had a single sub to call on

Panthers lined up in a 3-1-4-1-1 formation

————- Billy ————
--- Will - Joshua - Jake ---
------ Josh ----- Finn ------
William ------------- Lewis
----- Arthur --- Ryan H -----
————- Ryan B ————

Subs: Ollie

Panthers got off to the worst possible start, when Joshua was caught in possession in the box and the Farnham striker was gifted an easy chance to give them the lead within the first minute! ... 0-1

Ryan B was having a great game up front and after 20 minutes he brought the game level with an excellently taken goal ... 1-1

With 10 minutes of the half remaining, Ollie replaced Arthur to give some fresh legs in midfield.

Farnham regained the lead when some indecisiveness in defence gave Farnham another opportunity which they took ... 1-2

Half Time: Panthers 1-2 Farnham

For the second half Panthers moved William into the middle, with Ollie moving out to the left

————- Billy ————
--- Will - Joshua - Jake ---
------ Josh ----- Finn ------
Lewis --------------- Ollie
---------- Ryan H -------
— William - Ryan B —

Subs: Arthur

The match was starting to get pretty feisty, and after 54 minutes Panthers were awarded a penalty. William dispatched the ball with aplomb ... 2-2

Arthur replaced Lewis with William returning to the right, but then a couple of minutes later Ollie hobbled off so Lewis returned and played on the left. It was all a bit hectic and Panthers were now down to the bare bones.

The ref was doing well to keep the game under control with some heated challenges were flying in from both teams, and the yellow cards were being brandished

Then a couple of crazy minutes saw Farnham regain the lead ... 2-3 , and then swiftly score an own goal to bring the game level again ... 3-3

With temperatures looking to boil over, the ref suggested that Ryan B and the Farnham captain were substituted for the last 8 minutes

The game was played out for a draw.

Full Time: Panthers 3-3 Farnham

Injuries really cost Panthers for this game as we struggled to even get a team of 11 on the pitch.

It was an extremely physical game which at times bordered on being too out of control.

Hopefully some players return next week to kickstart the season.
