Our game this week brings together two teams looking to end a poor run of results. Ware haven’t won a league game since the 5-1 victory at Hertford on August 26th whilst the Rams of Beaconsfield have to look even further back. They won their opening two league games but any optimism that these results generated soon evaporated and left them struggling.
Both teams have gained just two points from their last five league games. The goal difference from those games is very little different between the two sides (Ware’s is marginally better) but the main issue is that both are finding it hard to score goals. Will they find it easier on Saturday?
Coincidentally the last time we met (actually the only other time), we won at Wodson in the 2015/6 season by the only goal of the game scored very late on and drew 1-1 away when the home side equalised with an equally late goal.
Back in the current season the Rams sit in fifteenth place, three points behind us but with two games in hand so there’s a lot to play for. We are now eleventh and after last week’s defeat at Aylesbury have lost more games than we’ve won, the first time this has happened since Paul Halsey took over as manager in 2018.
Paul is very much aware of this and writes openly about the situation in the match day programme.
We want your support for the team but if you can't make it you can pick up commentary on the game from Pete Hill and Symon Allemandy at 90minuteslivefootball.mixlr.com/events/3757635 starting from 2.55pm.
