After two away games we are back at home on Saturday for the visit of Northwood who have returned to the league after being transferred from the Isthmians. Last season saw them finish 15th and they have not started this one well.

They are currently bottom of the table on goal difference with one win and a draw from their eleven league games. The win came at Beaconsfield a week after we drew at home with the same opponents and the draw a little earlier at home to Leverstock Green. More recently they lost 4-2 at Hertford.

Paul Halsey will be looking to take advantage of their poor form but will have to do so without Max Granville (suspended) and possibly Tom Kay who, at the time of writing, is awaiting the results of a concussion assessment. On the plus side Freddy Moncur becomes available after completing his suspension.

Northwood may not be willing to play the easy victim however. The have appointed Gary Meakin as their new manager and leaving aside what changes he will make to personnel and tactics there is always the feel good effect that comes with a change at the top. There’s no reason to think that this will be an easy game. We may have started to return to some decent form but we will still have to work for the points.

On Sunday we have three games for you starting at 10am when the under-15s kick off against Newmarket Town, followed at midday by the under-14s who face Sudbury Sports and finally at 2pm when the under-16s meet Harlow Town. All matches are in the respective league cups for each age group. Entry is free and the club room and tea bar will be open throughout.
