No time to rest as the next match is upon us. Our win over Rovers back in August seems a long while ago now. Three quite different but equally excellent goals over hauled their 2-0 lead and our optimism soared. But we travel to Bedfordshire needing to get back on the pace for a play-off spot whilst Barton are already occupying fifth in the table.

Before last Saturday’s defeat to Real Bedford they had gone nine games without defeat with only a single draw to interrupt a winning streak. They’ve been in the goals too scoring 23 in those nine games whilst conceding only three.

We are on our own undefeated run but this does look like the biggest challenge to that since our draw away to Flackwell Heath. The message behind all that is that we look for as much support at the game as possible. Directions are in the link at the top of this page (entrance is via Luton Road not Sharpenhoe Road) but as with last year I can find no details on admission charges.

I don’t know what knocks and bruises have come from the Hertford game but I imagine that there might be some differences to our line-up. Paul Halsey’s comments about the team’s decision making and missed chances to put the game beyond Hertford in the first half suggest some changes may be made.

Youth games have started after the Christmas break but there are no home matches this weekend.
