My preview for last season’s visit to Kidlington suggested that Yarnton Road had not been a happy hunting ground for us. And so it proved again as we went down to a 1-0 defeat. We have taken just one league point from our three games there, only our three games at Aylesbury United have produced a worse reward.

We dropped points at home to Kidlington for the first time this season and although they are in real danger of relegation, that very fact may well spur them on to greater efforts. And they have just (re)appointed Aidan Hawtin as manager, a new occupant of the hot seat will often reinvigorate a side.

As far as Ware is concerned, we may well see some players returning from injury though I may also be correct that Max Granville will be suspended following an accumulation of yellow cards. I remain confident that we have the players but need to convert the scoring chances we create.

There are two youth games on Sunday. Starting at 10am the under-16s meet bottom club Leighton Town whilst at midday the under-18s take on St Margaretsbury also bottom of their table. As always, entry is free and the clubroom and tea bar will be open throughout.
