We wrap up the season with a visit to Beaconsfield Town. It will be only our second time at Holloways Park, the first being on 12th March 2016 when, as Beaconsfield Sycob, they scored their only goal in added time equaliser to share the Southern League points.
The late goal provided some symmetry as the earlier game at Wodson Park saw us win thanks to Harley Haag’s 91st minute goal, the only one of the match. This season’s home game continued the low scoring theme with Jon Clements’ goal earning a one-all draw.
We are one place and three points ahead of The Rams who will need to win by five goals if they are to overtake us. Meanwhile we will be looking to finish the season with our fourteenth consecutive undefeated game. We could rise above tenth place but only if Welwyn Garden City drop points at home to relegated Kidlington and Biggleswade struggle at bottom side North Leigh in which case we would need a win against Beaconsfield.
As for form we are seventh in the table based on our last six away games whilst Beaconsfield are eighth based on the same number of home games. So, not a lot to separate the sides. Another draw?
If you remember the preview for last week’s game you’ll know that, if selected, Joe Dearman will make his one hundredth appearance for Ware on Saturday.
The match Referee will be Isaac Blakey and the Assistance Referees are Adriana Bucur and Jake Atkinson.
There are no youth games this weekend but the under-16s meet Chelmsford City in the EJA Midweek Cup final at Haverhill on Wednesday, 30th April at 7,45pm.
