As a Club we are very much looking forward to our first season in the NEPL, while continuing to invest heavily in our players-of-tomorrow, the Washington Lions!
We have the ECB Club Mark status, and classed as Focus Club by the Durham County Cricket Board.
Washington Cricket Club aims to provide pathways for people of all ages to develop a lifelong active lifestyle based on playing active sport from the age of 7. This will be achieved by providing opportunities to play cricket at all ages and at all levels appropriate to the ability of members of the club.
We are currently running 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Teams in the North East Premier League, a midweek Senior team and a Sunday team in the Hetton Lyon League. In our junior section we have currently teams at in all age groups from u11s,though to u18s, taking part in the newly formed Central Division of the DCB.
While promoting diversity, the club will continue to nurture and develop the skills of the gifted and talented offering pathways to the highest level of cricket via strong links with the County CDM (Cricket Development Managers), and the Community Coaches.
The club will also continue to develop links with its wider community, such as schools volunteer organizations, elected members and residents groups in order to develop as many pathways into cricket as possible.
We hope you enjoy reading our website, and welcome you to the Harraton Cricket Ground, where Steve and Julie will ensure you receive a very warm welcome, and a lovely pint!
