Recently WDRFC were fortunate enough to have been granted £2500, towards the purchase of new portable lighting, by GREAT rugby awards trustees.
The Grass-roots Rugby for Everyone Award Trust (GREAT) is a charitable organisation which seeks to promote grassroots rugby across Scotland by awarding financial support to clubs and schools.
Their mission is to encourage more people to become involved in rugby, so that they may experience the health and social benefits of the game while growing the sport and improving standards across Scotland.
On Friday 7th March, Niall and Ruari Gartshore were invited, by GREAT, to attend a presentation of the award at Murrayfield, prior to the following day's International match against Wales.
During the day, they were given the opportunity to watch the final Captain's run, meet some of the players and to be presented with the award by national team coach, Gregor Townsend. Our photo shows the Gert does know how to laugh!!!!!!
A GREAT day and a GREAT award!!!!
