WD started well on Saturday, November 5, with a try almost straight from the kick off.
Andy Boslem, who played well throughout the game, collected a high ball from around halfway and put a testing kick towards the Glens’ back three.
The ball bounced and the chasing Boslem managed to volley the ball through for winger Gerry Devlin to touchdown for the try. Tom McDougall then converted to put WD 7-0 in front.
As the game began to settle down, WD piled the pressure on the travelling side. The backs were given some good fast balls and Devlin again chose a great line to slice through the defence and touch down for his brace.
With Tom McDougall converting, the scoreboard recorded 14-0 and Allan Glens looked to be facing a tough afternoon at Langloan.
But Glens were not ready to roll over just yet and ploughed there way back into the game. Strong WD performances from prop Kenny Rice and centre Chris McGuigan held Glens out for most of the game but a penalty and converted try saw the visitors move to 11 points with 20 minutes to go.
Tense final moments yielded no points and the game finished 14-11 to our boys.
