Welsh Wanders qualified for the super 5s in a final weekend finish which was fraught with tension and drama.
Due to the strong teams in this league things were always going to be tight with 5 teams going forward and 3 teams dropping down.
We started well with a solid win against a good Sheffield team which meant a win over Cheltenham would see us through to the next round. Unfortunately our old adversary had other plans and we ended up losing by 3 goals. This made it necessary to win our final game with Penguin.
The 1st quarter was pretty close but we were looking good. Then we really hit the gas and smashed them right out of the pool giving us a pass to the super 5s, Wanderers have played well in the past and we were pretty good in the Sheffield game but this was on another level everything we tried paid off, every player played well and we had a Point to prove that we belong here and not going away. The 20th Goal was bagged by Cheri Griffiths ably assisted by his dad Jon.
We ended up finishing 3rd in the league and Dan got the top scorer title again with 30 goals and a fantastic achievement which was fully deserved.
Joe was second top scorer with 20 and proves how strong we are this season.
Goal of the season went to Joe with his reverse shot in the top corner which was special.
A special thanks to the supporters who made more noise than all the otherers- da iawn
