As the 2016-17 season gets underway, Wendens Ambo are looking forward to an exciting year with plenty of opportunities to play rugby and - as important - the chance to build friendships and camaraderie after a hard fought game.
With the enticement of an end of season weekend tour, and many opportunities to socialise during the year, the club thinks of itself as being able to keep up with the times, while retaining the best of the traditional values of fair play, respect for the game, the opposition and the officials, and for teamwork.
"We are always looking for new players", says club founder Dominic Russell, "talent is entirely optional, but a wish to enjoy the game in good company, trying your best to win, but not allowing a defeat to spoil your week is compulsory."
Anyone who would like to play, or join in the weekly Thursday training sessions on the artificial turf pitch at Carver Barracks are encouraged to make contact with any of the club officers through this website or seek them out at the club's social base, the Fighting Cocks on London Road, Wendens Ambo.
