Wendover’s U15 team, being in the Bucks South Premier Division, were top of the table on 16th June - the date decreed by Bucks to determine which 2 clubs will play-off for the right to represent Bucks in the ECB Vitality Under 15 Club T20 Competition. We pipped Amersham by one point with both teams having won 2 and lost 2 of their matches played up to then.

This Friday 28th June at 6.00 p.m., we are playing Great Brickhill, who were the North Premier Division leaders, in the Play-Off Final at Little Missenden Misfits’ ground (Highmore Field Ground, Penfold Lane, Little Missenden). COME ALONG AND GIVE YOUR SUPPORT!

Wendover CC will be running a small bar with a range of drinks to buy. The weather forecast is good and anyone is welcome and encouraged to join us to help turn Little Missenden Misfits into Fortress Wendover!!

How did we get there?
10th May Beat Chesham by 10 wickets. Chesham 70 for 9 off 20 overs, 2 wickets each for Nathaniel Clark & George Greer; Wendover 72 for 0, Ishaan Ella 37* & Greer 29*.

24th May Lost to High Wycombe by 75 runs. High Wycombe 171 for 6 with George Greer 2 for 26, then Wendover 96 for 5 with Aayan Mehrab 35 and Harry Godden 30*.

7th June Beat Amersham by 36 runs. Wendover 124 for 5 with George Greer 44, then Amersham 88 for 10 with Nathaniel Clark 3 wickets for 7.

14th June Lost to Penn & Tyler’s Green by 24 runs. Penn 127 for 5 with Nathaniel Clark 2 wickets for 3 off 3 overs, then Wendover 103 for 8 with Zach Cleary 34*

So should Wendover U15’s win on Friday and reach the National Competition, how much of an achievement will it be? The current arrangement of selecting a team has been running for some years and it is thought that no other Wendover team (any age group) has progressed this way, so it would be a ‘first’. In the ‘old days’ when the knockout cups took pride of place, it was the winners of the U13/15 Bucks Cup Finals that went on to represent Bucks and the last time Wendover achieved that feat was in 2002 with the U15’s.
