2023-4 AGM News

The club held its 2023-4 AGM in the clubhouse attended by the members with notable updates as follows -

- the club paid tribute to former player Duncan Fearnley who was renowned locally for his Cricket Bat manufacturing business but who had played for the club in the very successful 1970-1975 era. RIP.

- the accounts made for healthy reading with various upticks in performance and a strong financial base for the coming year is expected.

- the club noted the numerous improvements to the ground most notably the new facia to the front of the clubroom - windows and doors thanks to considerable investment from the National Lottery Grant for which the committee are extremely grateful. Focus now moves to the car park refurb.

Annual Report - Stuart Baker noted the numerous successes both on and off the field at Adult and Junior levels during 2023 whilst paying tribute to the growth of the Womens section of the club. The mens first team and management were commended on their return to the Birmingham and District Premier Division 1 for the 2024 season perhaps earlier than expected. The standard of the ground and environs were noted and the ability to host hi-profile fixtures was testamant to the reputation of the club currently.

Committee - will see the additions of Danny-jo Cox (Ground and Land Development) and Samara Afzal (Womens Chair) to the current elections. Meanwhile grateful thanks were given to the long and dedicated service of David Davies (Treasurer) and Stuart Baker (Chair-President) who have decided to step aside. Mike Corcoran takes up his duties as President of the Birmingham League as the season commences.

The meeting closed with Stuart Baker wishing everyone success for the forthcoming campaign and that the continued developments off the field to grow the club remain priority.
