History

The Junior Section of WWFC was formed in 1983 by Tony Saunders and Keith Abrey and then Tony Warran joined them soon after. They began with one team and the this grew to ten teams by the early 1990's and it has remained at this level since.

WWJFC were one of the pioneering teams that started and shaped small-sided football. This seasons u17's team were the first squad to play small-sided football 10 years ago. No less than seven of the original u8's squad are still playing for the club today.

The club has enjoyed much success over the last 20 years or so by winning league trophies, various cups, including the Surrey Cup and Kent County Youth Cup. Arguably the Juniors most successful manager to date is Keith D'Urso who began running a team back in the 1992/93 season. For the next three seasons his team rarely lost a match as they won League titles, League and Surrey cups. In the 2001/02 season Keith crowned his glittering career by steering our u18's team to cup final glory by winning the Kent County Youth Cup.

The Juniors most successful year has to be the 2000/01 season when all the teams won a league title, cup or promotion. Our u16's did the double by taking the "A" division title and the Surrey Cup. They were very close to achieving the treble but were narrowly beaten in the league cup final. Many of this squad went on to play semi or pro-football and other members of the squad play for our successful Senior teams.

Today the club has a thriving Junior Section with particular emphasis on
small-sided football, where we run teams from u7's upwards. The nursery
coaching on Saturday mornings is booming and we regularly have 20 - 25 x 4/ 6 year olds attending our coaching sessions, all getting their transfusion of "blue blood" and improving their soccer skills.
