Veteran defender Wayne Goff scored his second goal of the season in a 12 minute spell that saw Weymouth take a 4 goal lead. Goff tapped in from close range in the opening minutes after Sam Drewitt found him unmarked at the back post from a slick short corner routine. Within minutes Weymouth had doubled from the lead - again from the second successive short corner. Top goal scorer Patrick May scoring a fine drag flick low past the helpless Fleet keeper. May then turned provider, finding Sam Drewitt unmarked in the D who flicked home a suberb finish into the top of the goal.

The Seasiders were running riot, May then received the ball just inside the opponents half and hit the ball directly towards the goal finding his strike partner Andy Stiles to run on deflecting past the stranded Fleet keeper. On the stroke of half time Weymouth added a fifth, May adding his second of the game finishing off a wonderful interchange play down the wing from Weymouth’s flying right back, Simon Harvey.

In the second half Weymouth took their foot off the pedal allowing the hosts to battle back into the game. There was spells of possession for both sides and any threat towards the seasiders goal was easily broken up by the resilient tackling from Michael Westlake and Matt Bell. Weymouth then confirmed their stance at the top of the table and secured their tenth straight win with Daniel Bowles scored his first goal of the season from a well worked short corner taking the final score to Fleet 0 - Weymouth 6.

Weymouth Captain Dan Dukes said “we were expecting a stern test today, Fleet have not been conceding many goals. Our preparations have been severely hampered due to the adverse weather conditions; also traffic caused us to arrive late. After changing on the bus and a hurried warm up I thought we were going to be in trouble, however that was a blistering 12 minute start to the game!”
