The review of the 1st XV win over Tarleton is well documented but time for a Wanderers mention regarding their creditable 7-7 draw against the free - scoring Eagles played at the Aspatria.
Credit to Team manager Paul Tiffen for pulling together a competitive XV at short notice and to Stephen Benson and Graham Stephens for stepping up as Team Managers on the day.
Returning Captain Nathan Cozens led the side well as they fought back to reduce a 7-0 score line with 10 minutes to go. Try scorer was Mark Knights and Nathan Cozens converted. Man of the Match was awarded to flanker Mark Knights and although no presentation was made at the Bower he received the customary bottle of Port on his arrival at Low Moor.
Alongside him in the back row and equally impressive were John Kemp and Ryan Johnston; whilst youngster Joe Marrs did a great job keeping our three quarter line on the move. Great also to see Harper Adams student John Swainson who managed to fit the game into a busy social itinerary.
For the record the team sheet read:-
Kieran Miller
Chris Hellon
Richard Harrison
Owen Sinclair
Peter Thorneycroft
Joe Marrs
Nathan Cozens (Captain)
Steven Rumney
Stephen Benson
Mark Grainger
Joe Gilroy

Preview Saturday 2nd Decemeber 2017
1st XV - Home match v Bolton - KICK OFF 2 00pm
A chance for the lads to build on the impressive second 40 minutes against Tarleton.
Be interesting to see which XV turns up this week - it underlines the depth of the squad when you consider that 28 players have featured in the last 3 matches but I suspect that Lead Coach Mark Lee will be looking to field a more consistent XV week to week as we move onto a run of crucial matches before the Xmas break (Bolton, Trafford, De La Salle).
EARLY NOTICE regarding the away match with Trafford - there will be limited seating for supporters looking to travel - I have already had enquiries regarding seats so please contact to secure a place. Meet will be 09.45 to leave at 10am with usual return arrangements. For supporters who are driving to the ground the Postcode is M33 (Finny Bank Road,Sale).

EARLY NOTICE (again) that next weeks league match with Aspatria Eagles will be played at Low Moor road with a 2pm KO. (Change to fixture card).
