ABOUT THE TEAM
We have an ever-expanding junior section that aims to appeal to a diverse range of boys and girls from ages 5-18. We have over 400 juniors from ages 5 to 18 and a combination of lead coaches, cadet coaches and volunteers who enthusiastically support the delivery of training sessions and matches each week. We have recently upgraded our coaching programme to provide a more diverse offering that includes weekly core training, performance sessions **, specialist goalkeeper training and indoor hockey for some age groups **. We are also engaged in our local school community to widen the opportunity to play hockey.

We are a family orientated community based members club and cater to those more competitive players looking for a performance pathway to those looking for a more fun and sociable experience. So, whether your child is new to the game and has never played before or is an accomplished player you will be welcome at Woking Hockey Club.
New players welcome. Parent helpers are also very welcome for hockey and non-hockey roles.

Junior Vision

To provide high quality and engaging coaching that helps players of all abilities learn skills and increase their understanding of the game.

Provide a clear structure and pathway for our players to develop and progress through into performance or life long participation avenues of the sport

To create a positive and safe environment for all players to create friendships, engage with different people and gain opportunities to push themselves to do the best they can

To engage with local communities to provide hockey to anyone through engagement with England Hockey, Woking School and Surrey Hockey

Age Groups:
Please note that our squads span two-year groups based on school year birthdates as per the England Hockey Championships. For the 2023/24 season, these are:
Under 6: turning 5 or 6 on or after 1st Sept 2023 (year R/1)
Under 8: turning 7 or 8 on or after 1st Sept 2023 (year2/3)
Under 10: turning 9 or 10 on or after 1st Sept 2023 (year 4/5)
Under 12: turning 11 or 12 on or after 1st Sept 2023(year 6/7)
Under 14: turning 13 or 14 on or after 1st Sept 2023 (year 8/9)
Under 16: turning 15 or 16 on or after 1st Sept 2023 (year 10/11)
Under 18: turning 17 or 18 on or after 1st Sept 2023 (year 12/13)

We offer all new members a 3 week free trial before committing to payment. All prices are under the payments section

What to Bring:
Shinpads, Gumshield, Stick (if new to the sport we have some to lend) and water bottle.

Need a shirt?
All players in the u14 age group and above need a number for their shirt. Numbers are not permitted for those in the u12 age groups or below.
