Illness saw us go from a 14 man squad to 12 for our 4th game against Woodham Vic this season. Sax deputised in midfield, with Kav in the 10 as we were short on options in the middle.

A sloppy start saw us go behind as some defensive indecision saw their winger in behind and he lobbed Carl neatly.

The first half saw us have most of the ball, but there were few chances at either end. Luca went closest for us, but dragged just wide at the near post. We were looking for the killer ball too early and Woodham were well organised and dealt with it easily.

Early in the second half our hosts had a good spell where Carl made a decent save and their defender headed wide.

We came through that and a change in shape turned the tide in our favour as we began to assert ourselves again.

On 74 we equalised when Ell's quickly taken free kick found Luca who chested down and finished superbly low into the far corner leaving the keeper no chance.

We fancied ourselves to grab the winner and with 5 to go Cal surged down the right, beat his man and delivered a fine cross to the penalty spot where Kav was unmarked to control and smash home emphatically.

Woodham had a couple of throw in's that caused a bit of pressure, but it was us who should have had the chance to add a 3rd when the referee was unfortunately the only man in attendance who couldn't see Dani was brought down in the penalty area as he was about to go one on one with the keeper.

In the end it didn't matter as we saw the game out to pick up our 3rd league win on the bounce. Not what I'd call a vintage display, but we showed good character here to get a deserved win.

MoM - Ell - defended well and showed good initiative and accurate delivery to set up the equaliser.
