Exciting times ahead for Wolstanton United following the appointment of the new First Team Joint Management Team of Andy Taylor and Jamie Cartwright and Reserve Team Manager Paul Mackintosh as well as a few key additions to strengthen an already strong committee. We have also retained the services of First Team Coach Andy Brownsword and are delighted to announce Wolstanton Goal keeping legend Dougie Hughes has returned to the club as Goal Keeping Coach.

Below are joint First Team Manager Andy Taylor’s thoughts on joining Wolstanton United and the future ahead: -

Having played for the Wolstanton United previously, I'm really looking forward to working with a club which has such a strong family ethos, underpinned by a team of brilliant people working hard behind the scenes and a great bunch of players who want to work hard to achieve success.

Jamie and I feel proud to be coming to work with a team where the enjoyment of the game is paramount, alongside a pride of being part of the Wolstanton 'family,' a legacy that has been created through the hard work of Matt and Neal.

With the addition of the reserves, run by Paul Macintosh, and plans in place to expand the club moving forwards, it is an exciting time for myself and Jamie to oversee the first team whilst ensuring that there is a pathway for players through the club.

Andy & Jamie have only been at the helm for a few weeks now, but you can see the players are responding to their fresh approach to training, which I’m sure the previous Management Team of Matt Hancock and Neal Morrell were hoping for when they relinquished their posts.

Paul has brought over a core of players from his Market Drayton Tigers team to create a strong looking Reserve squad, and with the full backing of the Committee behind Paul and his team, hopefully a successful season is ahead.

The Committee has also strengthened this season with the last years Management Team Matt Hancock and Neal Morrell staying on to bring their relative Youthful enthusiasm to the Club, and the addition of First Team Managers Andy Taylor and Jamie Cartwright, as well as Paul Mackintosh and Andrew Mackintosh to represent the Reserves.

With the new additions and the existing the members, the Committee can now boast seventeen members who have a wealth of experience from fund raising, football development, ground maintenance along with the day to day football administration.
