Sporting came into the game missing two Big powerful forwards Tony Onokah & Corey Pearce and it showed in the first half as we hardly created a chance and allowed Dudley Town too much time on the ball. When we did have hold of the ball our final pass was poor and allowed Dudley to keep coming forward. They deservedly took the lead on 18 minutes as poor defending allowed Cooper time and space in the penalty area to play in Mills and he side stepped 2 defenders before firing low into the bottom corner. Townsend then broke clear and his shot took a massive defelection and looked to have beaten O Mallry but it landed just wide of the right hand post. Right on the on the stroke of half time Mills broke clear and with just Dye to beat Dye produced a fanstatic save to parry the ball round the post but from the resulting corner Dudley extended there lead when once again poor defending allowed Whitley a chance to volley home from 6 yards and he made no mistake with a powerful volley.

HT 2-0

Second half was a different story as a tweak in formation gave us more threat up front and it showed as N Jones powerful header from the edge of the area looked to have beaten O Mallry but he managed to get finger tips to the ball and tip it round the post. Dudley could and should of made it 3-0 after an excellent ball was delivered but there forward fluffed his shot from 8 yards. O Mallry made another excellent save as once again he denied N Jones who let fly with a first time shot from the edge of the area the ball fell back to Jones and with O Mallry on the deck his first time volley flew agonisingly wide of the upright. Townsend then had a glorious chance when the ball was crossed into the area and with time to bring the ball down and finish he opted for a first time header which flew over the crossbar. O Mallry again produced a spectacular save as Facey cut inside off the flank and volleyed a shot which looked to be flying into the top corner only for O Mallry to tip it round the post. From the resulting corner Townsend rose the highest in the box and saw his header crash off the cross bar. Dicken then beat his man and fired the ball across the Dudley area and with the goal gapping a last ditch clearance prevent Spence from tapping home. Spence then beat his man and his cross come shot looked to have finally beaten O Mallry but he tipped it over the cross bar.
