With the introduction of the 'getting to know the royals' we introduce our day one player from previous club Malvern Vale.... Mr Shakeil 'big shaq' Barrett.

So Shaq, tell us a bit about yourself. Why the royals?

Id previously been with Hellenic Outfit with Tytherington, where the likes of Whicks, Turbo, Goode and Ritchie were, so once i knew they were forming a side, it was a no brainer to go with them but personally the biggest difference with the royals is with how well its run as a whole, not just as management, but as the background staff and the whole togetherness of the squad, its an ideal prospect for such an up and coming club like ourselves, said Barrett.
Ive enjoyed many things with the boys, from previous club Malvern Vale Development with building the foundation of the squad, to where we are now. my most enjoyable time with the club has hands down got to be our cup run last season, such a shame we couldn't finish it, definitely though with the momentum we had, we were in contention!

And onto the favourite team mates.... it would easily be the stranger Ritchie and HT not like the sauce but better, its like you've got tesco value then bisto, HT is different gravy. Have some good banter with them, and away from football they're close mates too.

So shaq, overall some ambitions and achievements you're wanting from being with the royals?
A personal achievement for me is to get promotion with these boys, theyre a great bunch of lads, what weve got going this season is something special, such a shame lockdown halted us ay! but once its lifted, we will be sure to kick back on and do well this season,as we are capable of doing so! The lads are eager and very hungry for some silverware, and personally, its achievable!
