For our 2019/20 season our new site is https://worcesterrfc.rfu.club/

Summary

Action. The the only action required now, if you update the web site, is to please make sure that can access the RFU GMS. See "How To" information here https://worcesterrfc.rfu.club/news/read-this-to-get-started.

Why; We are moving to a new site service provided free by the RFU

What Next; The GMS season is still 2018/19. It will move to the new season, 2019/20, mid June when more information will need inputting.

Don't Bother; No need to add anything to Pitchero in readiness for next season

Detail

We are still testing and updating the new site that can be found here https://worcesterrfc.rfu.club/ and clearly we need everyone to get behind this new site and keep it updated. The great news is that all player and match information feeds directly and automatically from GMS to the website.

I have made some How-to videos that can be found on the new site, that will hopefully help with the move.

The Pitchero site will remain active for now and we will advise visitors / users of our change.

The upsides seem to be;

All the key data for the web site content comes directly from the RFU Game Management Service (GMS)
Zero cost to us, saving about £220 pa.
No noisy take-over adverts.
No added advertising content.
No double entry of our matches. (We now need to put all 15 a-side matches on GMS anyway)
No double entry of players details.
Better data security having most of our/your/your child's personal data in just one place.
Much lower transaction fees for online purchases.

The possible down sides could be.

A slightly slower web site speed.
Having to learn a new system
No additional off-line software (nobody has mentioned, when asked, that they use any of these)
Possibly a more basic set of web site features.

If we can all be up and happy over the next two weeks, we will be ready to sort out our new season on GMS and update or get our volunteers to update, our team details on the new website.

It would be great to ensure that all players and coaches/volunteers have a current picture on GMS as this comes through to the web site.

Help email addresses are on the new site.
