Andy signed in August 2012 following his release from Barrow. He is no stranger to Rivacre Park as he spent a successful three months on loan in 2011/12 season.

He began his career as a trainee with Liverpool but was released without making a first-team appearance in the summer of 2003 and joined Swindon Town. Over the following five years he made 141 League and Cup appearances for the Robins scoring six times and in 2005 he had a brief five game loan spell with Chester City.

He was released in the summer of 2008 and joined Rotherham United where he made twenty-six appearances over two seasons before being released at the end of the 2010/11 season. Had a spell on loan with Mansfield Town that season where he played fourteen games, scoring once before joining Barrow in August 2010 making his debut in the opening day defeat at Histon.
