Worthing put in a very good shift against high opposition on Tuesday night and looked sharp.
Crawley opened the scoring in the first half when Ross Edwards gave away the ball to Jason Banton who calmly placed the ball round Banks.
Worthing grew more into the game and were creating chances. The Rebels equalised when new signing, Reis Stanislas, set Newton down the right-hand side to deliver a great pull-back to Sparks who smashed the ball home.
HALF TIME: Crawley 1-1 Worthing
Crawley grabbed the winner 9 minutes into the second half when Banton saw his shot blocked by his own player (Bawling) who then tucked it away into the corner.
The Rebels created chances for Pope, Newton and Stanislas in the second half but the Crawley back line was staying strong and Worthing just couldn't grab the equaliser.
