Rebels announce loan signings of midfielder Liam Kimber and forward Casey Johnson

Worthing Football Club are delighted to confirm the new signings of midfielder Liam Kimber and forward Casey Johnson on season-long loan deals.

Kimber joins on dual registration with Havant & Waterlooville, while Johnson has signed after impressing while on trial from Ebbsfleet during pre-season.

Both players made their debuts against Walton & Hersham on Wednesday night with Kimber playing the full 90 minutes and Johnson coming on as a second half substitute.

Joint-manager Gary Elphick revealed that both players had signed one-year loan deals and was impressed by their performances.

“Liam and Casey are both signed on season long loans now from their respective clubs and both were excellent tonight and showed a lot of energy,” he said.

“Once again they’ll be fighting for positions within our team, so I couldn’t be any happier with those two tonight.”

Kimber was on trial at Woodside Road during pre-season and is a product of the Havant & Waterlooville academy.

The young midfielder was part of the Hawks’ side that overcame Petersfield Town in the Portsmouth Senior Cup final in April.

Johnson joins from National League South side Ebbsfleet United after scoring twice for the Rebels in the 7-1 thrashing of Woking’s academy side during pre-season.

He was offered a one-year contract with Ebbsfleet in February after breaking through the club’s academy system.

Worthing Football Club would like to welcome both players to the Photronix Stadium, and hope they enjoy a successful season with the club.
