Harrogate kick off and the early exchanges sees Harrogate knock on from a strong Dan Mitchell tackle and later on Jack Brownridge wins turnover ball. Harrogate concede numerous penalties and with Maxwell Lee dictating play he kicks into the corner where Harrogate are penalised again. Yarnbury kick for the 5m lineout. They set up the driving maul but it is disrupted by Harrogate although they look to have changed their bind in doing so. A few minutes later winger Oliver Kilbride is released but elects to kick ahead and the ball goes dead for a Harrogate 22 yard drop out. From the re-start Yarnbury attack again and Jacob Rawson makes a clean break but when tackled knocks on. Harrogate try to run the ball out of their 22 but good Yarnbury pressure wins a penalty and they kick for another 5m lineout but this is knocked on. In the 15th minute Alex Koppany wins turnover ball and then Jacob Rawson is released in centre field and only stopped by a high tackle for which the Harrogate player receives a yellow card.

Yarnbury must have over 95% territorial advantage but they are unable to convert this into points whilst Harrogate are down to 14 players. Harrogate are penalised for holding on at the breakdown after Yarnbury kick ahead. Yarnbury again kick for the attacking lineout but the resulting driving maul see the Harrogate prop come away with the ball. Yarnbury continue with their attack and a series of pick and drives eventually sees the ball move wide and prop Kaidon Verity makes a flat pass to winger Eddie Davey to score in the corner. The conversion is missed but after 33 minutes Yarnbury lead by 5. Yarnbury deal with the restart and the half time whistle is blown.

Yarnbury start the 2nd half with a kick deep into the Harrogate 22 but a missed tackle sees Harrogate progress up the pitch and only a last ditch tackle stops the try. However, Yarnbury are penalised and a quick tap sees Harrogate crash over the line to score. The conversion is missed but Harrogate draw level. Yarnbury play their way into the Harrogate 22 but they eventually lose it at the breakdown and Harrogate are able to clear their lines. Jack Brownridge steals possession at a Harrogate lineout but is then pushed into touch. Yarnbury again apply pressure and take play up to the Harrogate 22 where numerous penalties are conceded. The option to kick for points in considered but Yarnbury elect for the lineout. The Harrogate defence holds Yarnbury up over the try line for a 5m scrum. Jacob Rawson is released in centre field but a huge tackle sees him knocked back but quick retention allows Maxwell Lee hit a gap and release Jamie McDonnell to score in the corner. The conversion is missed but after 17 minutes of the 2nd half the score is Yarnbury 10-5 Harrogate.

From the re-start Yanbury are penalised at the breakdown and Harrogate elect for the scrum. Pick and drives sees Harrogate progress up the pitch and score. The conversion is missed but again Harrogate draw level at 10 all. During this phase of play Kaidon Verity is injured and withdrawn and, with no replacement prop, the scrums become uncontested. From the kick off Harrogate knock on but the attack from the next phase of play is knocked on by Yarnbury. Harrogate then attack down the wing before breaking in centre field to score. The conversion is completed; Yarnbury 10-17 Harrogate.

The last few minutes of the game see Yarnbury on the attack. Under extreme pressure, Harrogate concede numerous penalties, but no cards are shown. There is therefore a reluctance to move the ball wide through the backs against such a strong defensive unit. The final play sees Yarnbury kick for a 5m lineout where Harrogate do not engage and Yarnbury are penalised although they argue that they have not transferred the ball.
